Congratulations.  I am pleased to inform you that the UIC College of Nursing Baccalaureate Admissions and Academic Standards Committee has reserved a place for you at the Urbana  campus in the Fall 2006 entering transfer class.  You will receive 2 packets of information (one from the College and one from the University) by the first week of May which will include a formal admission letter, details about your acceptance, prerequisite evaluation and time sensitive materials to be returned to the College.  We do require a $100 tuition deposit to reserve your space and is to be returned with your enrollment confirmation form.

Those of you who currently attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, must attend a mandatory College of Nursing orientation on Wednesday May 3 from 4-6pm in room 120 of the College of Nursing at 408 S. Goodwin,Urbana. Registration information will be given to you at the orientation. You must also be measured for uniforms in Room 240 of the College of Nursing anytime between 10am and 4pm, also on May 3. Be prepared to pay by check or credit card for your uniform and supply kits. The cost will be around $150.00.  If you are unable to attend the May 3 orientation or be measured for uniforms on that day, please contact Chris Whippo at whippo@uiuc.edu to make alternate arrangements. These matters must be taken care of before you leave UIUC for the summer break.

Please send any questions regarding this offer via email to schmoyer@uic.edu.  If you choose not to accept our offer of admission, I ask that you notify us as soon as possible so that we can offer your space to an eager individual from our waiting list.

So i was going through people's away messages and reading their profile in AIM, then i happened to come along this one entry from ANDREW FRANTILLA's, my brother =), so i decided to steal it and share it to everyone.

SO PLEASE READ IT! IT'S REALLY INTERESTING and HELPFUL with LIFE DECISIONS

Dr. Michael Dale Myers:
To paraphrase the Greek philosopher Epictetus in the Enchridion (you philosophy and religious studies folks should recognize this):
Are you willing to train, sweat, follow the proper diet, and risk injury, broken limbs and deformaty to be an Olympic wrestler?  If not, you won't be an Olympic wrestler.

Many rumors circulate about the big buck jobs.  Many recent graduates are working in New York earning $80 - 90,000 per year.  They're also
working 80 - 100 hours per week for "the man."  Do the math, they're earning about $17.30 and hour.

Hell, my plumber gets $65 an hour, works for himself, and doesn't work when he doesn't want to.

So you tell me, who's in charge of their life here?

As a footnote, plumbers in New York get about $275 an hour, lawyers about $175.  And where I live, the guy who owns a masonry company has a
better house than the surgeon and dentist.

So, again, tell me the plan.

Finally, some very good friends of mine are very successful in business, law, medicine, etc.  Unfortunately, in doing so, they have lost their
wives, husbands, children, families, are completely wacked-out, on valium and the only person they see on a regular basis is their psychiatrist.  Most of them would change a lot of success for a bit of happiness.

To quote Jean-Paul Sartre and Bertrand Russell respectively (and if you don't know who they are, so far your education has not lived up to its billing):

"The greatest burden is freedom, and most people can't carry it" and "Most people would rather die than think; in fact most do."

But it's all up to you.  Are you living your life or someone else's, but do you know who you are?

Think about it.
